Light

We use light every day as a means to see our surroundings, it is intangible, but we can control it to some extent.
This photo was about the exploration of the qualities of light and how it could be used to create something that appeared to be a physical 'thread' that could be controlled to convey a written message.
The wire mesh tunnel reflected excess light created by streetlights and appears as a grid of light upon which the script is layered. The perspective of the composition is highlighted by the lines of the tunnel that receed into a vanishing point. The ghost of a figure is seen at 3 stages in the photograph, transparant and out of focus.
The overall image is reminiscent of a grafitti artist leaving their mark on the city, though unlike the permanent nature of spraypaint it is only able to be viewed through the technology of a camera.
